When i tried to connect Sql Analysis Service , i con't able to get Database. The database drop down remained empty as shown in fig below.
SharePoint 2013 Dashboard Designer was written for Sql Server 2008 R2 Analysis Services clients, so we have to install ADOMD version10 for client support.
Download ADOMD here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16978.
After install ADOMD, just perform an IISRESET. Now it will work . Hope this helps!
Verify permissions: even you are Administrator in Dashboard side, you have to be authorized in SQL Server side and be part of the group who has access to the Cube in SSAS side !... (by default this not allowed... change it manually in this area...) Hope this help... Otto
ReplyDeleteHi Othman,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion..
After installing ADOMD, Dashboard Designer does not run any more! Authentication error occured!
ReplyDeleteHi Othman,
ReplyDeletePlease revert with step bye step.
I just added the Analysis Services server name: no list of db appears.
ReplyDeleteIn the Data Source Settings section I then clicked "Per-user Identity", which makes a lot of sense as we have cube based security.
The list of databases now appears.
